OVERVIEW
This comprehensive set of resources targets Bank staff and borrowers engaged in Investment Project Financing IPF initiatives, ming to provide guidance on implementing sustnable procurement practices within these projects. It encompasses newly developed procurement-related documents, tools, templates, and trning materials that are sequenced according to the project lifecycle phases.
The suite is designed to align with the World Bank's Environmental and Social Framework ESF, a set of mandatory guidelines focused on environmental and social risk management. The ESF identifies over fifty sustnability topics encompassing contractors, suppliers, consultants, child labor, forced labor, safety measures, pollution control, worker rights, among others.
These resources are crucial for operations teams and borrowers to mitigate risks associated with ES impacts as outlined in the Bank's ESF document and website. By integrating sustnable procurement practices into their processes, project stakeholders will help achieve not only societal but also economic and environmental benefits aligned with the Bank’s goals.
