2. Investment Banking Associate

   Progression from analyst to associate usually takes about three years, with exceptional graduates sometimes bypassing the entry-level position if they hold a top-tier MBA degree. The associate's role encompasses overseeing analysts and sping significant time engaging directly with clients to understand their needs. In this capacity, they also collaborate with analysts in developing pitch books and financial. Salaries for associates usually fall between $110K and $300K.

3. Vice President

   Moving up from associate requires another few years of experience under your belt, often around three to four years, including the time spent as an analyst. A vice president is more involved with clients, offering updates on deal progressions and ensuring that the presentation materials are well-prepared for both internal use and client interaction. VPs earn significantly higher salaries compared to their junior counterparts, ranging between $150K and $450K annually.

4. DirectorSenior Vice President

   To achieve the position of Director or Senior Vice President, you typically need several years of experience within an investment bank working your way up from a lower rank. The job title sometimes varies across institutions but carries similar responsibilities. DirectorsSVPs are deeply involved in client interactions and act as facilitators between clients and teams below them. 5. Managing Director

   Sitting at the pinnacle of the investment banking hierarchy is the Managing Director, responsible for the financial performance of the entire bank.
