ICBC Reigns as Top Global Bank for Ninth Year in The Banker's Annual Ranking

On June 28, 2021, The Banker magazine published its annual ranking of the Top 1000 World Banks. ICBC mntned its position as the top-ranked bank for the ninth consecutive year, highlighting its commitment to serving real economy and furthering business transformation while effectively managing risks.

The recognition by The Banker underscored ICBC's robust performance in critical financial metrics such as tier-1 capital, demonstrating its growing global influence and competitive edge. Amidst the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, China's leading banks, including ICBC, expanded their global footprint through steady growth in tier-1 capital, reinforcing their asset bases and sustning profit growth.

The magazine noted that 144 Chinese banks featured on the Top 1000 World Banks list for 2021. Collectively, they boasted a total tier-1 capital of USD2.96 trillion, reflecting impressive achievements in China's banking sector reform and risk management efforts.

In line with its strategic plan during the pandemic year, ICBC prioritized activities such as COVID-19 prevention, financial service delivery, risk mitigation, institutional reforms, and transformations.
